EL BAT Launches Project to Improve Workplace Environment under EU Human Resources Development Programme

On February 3, 2025, EL BAT officially launched its latest strategic initiative — the “Support for Improving the Working Environment at EL BAT AD” project, funded by the European Union through the Human Resources Development Programme 2021–2027, under grant procedure BG05SFPR002-1.004 “Promoting Employment and Skills Development.”
The project aims to support EL BAT’s workforce in adapting to the evolving demands of a green, climate-neutral economy and dynamic work environments. In a highly specialized sector such as metallurgy and battery recycling, these changes require swift and effective improvements to job quality and the introduction of sustainable workplace practices.
Key Objectives of the Project:
Implementation of Green Work Models:
Development and integration of green organizational models for 19 workplaces across the Ecology Department and production units such as Separation, Refining, Short Rotary Furnace, and Regranulation — directly benefiting 107 employees.
Health and Safety Optimization:
Improving microclimatic conditions and implementing risk mitigation measures for 10 key positions, particularly in the Ecology Department and units like Refining and Short Rotary Furnace, affecting 67 team members.
The initiative is a vital step toward increasing resource efficiency, safeguarding occupational health, and aligning with long-term environmental objectives.
Total Project Budget: 246,709.10 BGN
Duration: 14 months (February 3, 2025 – April 3, 2026)
By investing in its people and processes, EL BAT continues to set a high standard in the recycling and metallurgy industry — not only through technological advancement but also through social responsibility and sustainability-driven transformation.
